One of the most significant offshore main gas pipelines ever built by MT Group – the offshore main gas pipeline for the LNG Terminal in Paldiski, Estonia – has been certified with DNVGL-SE-0475 (2017) Verification and Certification of Submarine Pipelines by Lloyd’s Register.

This achievement is especially significant because international certification of pipelines is a rare occurrence. In fact, only a handful of internationally certified pipes have been installed globally, and MT Group has been involved in some of them, including the Baltic Pipe (Danish-Polish interconnector) and Balticconnector (Finnish-Estonian interconnector) projects.

Our team worked tirelessly, around the clock, for four months, hitting the toughest milestones with 100% accuracy. The project had challenging deadlines, and the weather conditions were tough, with winter arriving earlier than expected. Despite these challenges, we completed the project on time, and our pipeline is now providing energy security for Estonia and the entire region.

Certification of the pipeline is a critical step in ensuring safety, reliability, and environmental protection for the pipeline’s operational lifetime. It is an acknowledgement of the rigorous standards we adhere to, and our commitment to delivering excellence.

We want to thank our client, Elering, for their trust and cooperation, and our team for showing a professional approach and willingness to overcome every challenge on such a complex project of international importance.  We also want to thank Connexus for their great cooperation during project execution.
