MT Group, a construction company engaged in strategic energy and industrial infrastructure projects across Europe, is now led by Mindaugas Zakaras. He succeeds Simonas Kunickas, who held this position for nearly four years.
„I am returning to active management with a clear strategy for how MT Group will establish itself in the rapidly growing renewable energy market, where demand for biogas, hydrogen energy, and carbon capture solutions is particularly increasing,” said Mindaugas Zakaras, CEO of MT Group.
As one of the green hydrogen startup founders, Green Energy Park Global, Mindaugas Zakaras has gained significant knowledge and insights that have served as the foundation for expanding MT Group’s portfolio and strengthening its competencies in the renewable energy sector.
„Together with partners, we have developed Green Energy Park Global, which, in a remarkably short time, has become a viable project. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, recognized it as one of the cornerstone green hydrogen projects globally. The global energy market is on the brink of significant change, and we must be prepared,” added Zakaras.
Simonas Kunickas will continue to serve on the MT Group board, focusing on strengthening the company’s project portfolio across Europe. In addition to Simonas Kunickas, the MT Group board includes the company’s founder and CEO, Mindaugas Zakaras, and newly appointed board member, Executive Director Kristina Norvaišienė.
„We are now well-established as a strong and reliable EPC contractor, developing complex natural gas and LNG projects across Europe. We have also laid a solid foundation for the company’s transformation towards green energy. Strengthening the leadership team will allow us to continue our work with greater intensity – enhancing MT Group’s competencies in the new energy sector and expanding our project portfolio across Europe,” said Simonas Kunickas.
MT Group is active in the energy and industrial infrastructure sectors. The company designs and constructs natural gas and liquefied natural gas facilities across Europe and implements construction, development, and modernization projects for oil, port, cogeneration plants, and renewable energy facilities.
