One of the Estonian LNG terminal project’s final stages and major milestones was laying the subsea cable. A few weeks back MT Group installed approx. 1km high voltage and optical reinforced subsea cable including pulling the cable to the top of the jetty.

The first snowfall and blizzard did not stop the operations. The wind was pretty dramatic, causing some serious sea swell. You could hear and feel the Baltic Sea talking to us, seriously. And despite the severe weather conditions, a nearly ideal cable position was achieved.

This operation is part of the Estonian-Finnish joint gas supply security project, which aims to strengthen energy security in the entire region. After the implementation of this project, the constructed underwater main gas pipeline will connect the LNG terminal in the Estonian city of Paldiski with the national gas grid.
