The Estonian LNG terminal project is moving fast and steadily toward completion. MT Group has successfully completed another critically responsible milestone  the Riser installation and flanged subsea spool connection to the main offshore pipe at approx. 13m depth, which was pulled towards the FSRU mooring jetty a few weeks back.

All that remains is to lay the marine cable, backfilling and perform hydraulic tests and pre-commissioning. MT Group will also run the cooling and nitrogen-filling activities and finally  connect the offshore pipeline to the onshore gas distribution network.

This operation is part of the Estonian-Finnish joint gas supply security project, which aims to strengthen energy security in the entire region. After the implementation of this project, the constructed underwater main gas pipeline will connect the LNG terminal in the Estonian city of Paldiski with the national gas grid.
